Its Thanksgiving night and I’m sitting here reflecting what I’m thankful for. My family is first of course. My two children and wonderful husband…I could go on about my entire family, they’re all very special, but we would be here for awhile. I’m Thankful for my Nan’s stuffing. My Nan always made the stuffing for Thanksgiving. She would tell my Pop-Pop he needed to cut the onions and celery thinner, tell me to rip the bread bigger and we would all look at one another and smile. This was Thanksgiving, and this was my Nan’s stuffing. So when my Nan died two years ago and Thanksgiving came, we weren’t quite sure what to do about the stuffing. We’ve never made it by ourselves before. We have the recipe but would it be the same? Last year with the opening of Bellani, I didn’t make it home. I didn’t have my Nan’s stuffing. I felt like there was something missing. So this year I made it by myself and brought it to my in-laws. I have to say it was wonderful. So, I am thankful for my Nan’s stuffing. An artful way to feed your Baby
Skip Hop has come out with a creative way to help feed our children. It’s called the Palette Plate feeding set. Essentially it’s an artist’s pallet. There are 3 drop-in bowls with lids that are microwave safe and handy if you have to throw it back in the fridge, a place for a cup, a shallow bowl plus matching fork and spoon; all with a skid-resistant base. It’s ideal for the preparation, storage and serving of finger foods for babies or toddlers. I would have loved this when my children where younger. Having one child who screams if his food touches another one, this would have been ideal. We have plenty in stock for the holiday season.

Whole Food stores where mobbed several weeks ago in certain cities to buy limited edition canvas bags with “I’m not a plastic bag.” They were designed by a top fashion designer whose bags who sell for more than $1500. Can you believe they were sold out in minutes? So for those of us who can’t have that bag, these bags are pretty cool.
We’ve had quite a few customers lately tell us they don’t want a bag when they check out. They are happy to use their diaper bag, stroller, or these new bags called Envirosax. We thought the eco-friendly bags were a great idea. They roll up as small as an apple, but when unrolled and stuffed with “Bellani” goods, they are as big as plastic bag at the grocery store. “Envirosax presents the environmentally conscious shopper with a practical option, which will spread the environmental message with style”. We can all help the earth by doing a little here and there. We think these bags are a great start to put and end to all those plastic bags. We have several colors in stock.

They have taken the Velcro off all their bags (except for the side bottle pockets) which is great because the Velcro got caught on your arm every time you put your hand in the bag, and replaced it with magnets. When you want to change your bag from the shoulder strap to hang it on the stroller, the clip is now able to have both clips in at the same time, which means you don’t have to unclasp the arm strap anymore. They have come out with a backpack and messenger style bag and a new metro line. What does that mean for our customers? We will clearance out our current Skip Hop’s to make room for the new ones arriving. Lucky for you!

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a year since we first opened our doors. One year ago today, we set out on an amazing journey to hopefully help, encourage and support women of Rhode Island. Kelly and I feel very lucky with the response we have received this year, and are exciting for many more to come. Thank you to all of our wonderful customers who brighten our day and inspire what we do.
And yes, we will be having our Birthday Party tomorrow! Hurricane and all, we will be celebrating with wind, rain, friends and family.
